Bring Your Music to Life!

The Mixing and Mastering stage is by far the most underrated process of any musical production.

Having a great performance is important, but having a great mix and master, which enhances that performance, is almost as important. A great mix can bring life to a song, and by the same token, a bad one can take its life away.

Whether you recorded at a studio with professional gear, or at home with less-than ideal gear; a great mix and master should add depth, width, color, dynamics, clarity and punch.

For us having you involved in the process is critical. By being part of each stage, we can do justice to the song and to you. The true emotion of the song is within you, and that's what we're looking to bring out.

Steps of Mixing...

  • Levels: Control the levels and balance of each instrument, placement and width of each element.

  • EQ and Compression: Fine-tune each element, give a unique sound to each and provide clarity and presence to the composition.

  • Reverb and Effects: Create a sense of depth, width and space. Effects and Reverb give the listener a realistic feel of being 'there' listening to you play.

  • Automation: Gives your song extra detail and dynamic variation. Automation creates movement in a production, and enhances the sense of energy.

FAQs

How do I prepare my song for mixing?

The best way to prepare is by printing stems, this means bouncing each instrument separately, giving us as much flexibility as possible. If you’re using ProTools you can send the session file with the audio -please remember to convert your midi instruments to audio-.

Can I attend the mixing session?

Absolutely! though we prefer to have a little alone time with the project prior to your arrival so it’s more efficient.

Do you provide editing and auto-tuning?

Basic editing, to better serve the production, will be done but any heavy editing to correct performance issues is an additional service.

Do you offer deals for more than one song?

We can most certainly discuss deals for multiple songs. That being said, deals apply to full length projects such as Albums or EP’s, it does not apply for singles.

How many revisions do we offer?

We offer 3 free revisions per song. I encourage you to be as detailed as possible in your notes as to take full advantage of each revision. Additional revisions are available for a fee.

Should I send more than one reference track?

You’re welcome to send more than one reference track. That being said, please make a note of what you like from each song, as to give us a better direction.
