EscobarMusic is the creative outlet for producer, engineer, multi-instrumentalist and educator John Escobar.  Born to a Colombian father and Mexican-American mother, he grew up in a multicultural environment across multiple continents, spending his childhood in several countries in South America, and his adolescent years in East Africa.  Having the privilege of experiencing life from this angle, he also gained a deep appreciation for the music and sounds of the world since early on.  Nowadays, John is quite well known for his versatility, which he attributes to no small degree to this culturally diverse upbringing.  His work has spanned many genres over the years, allowing him to work with such great artists as Grammy nominated rock band Highly Suspect, jazz guitar virtuoso Larry Coryell, two time Grammywinning folk artist Sarah Jarosz, indie pop band Fences featuring the Grammy winning hip hop duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and multi-platinum producer Barry Eastmond, for projects on Walt Disney Pictures, Warner Music, Universal Music, NPR, and many more.

Over the last few years, John has had a chance to spend some time in the academic setting, having taught at several of the most prestigious academic institutions in North America, such as Berklee College Of Music, Boston University, University of Southern California, Northeastern University, and Harvard, where he enjoys sharing his real-world knowledge with the up-and-coming talent in the music industry.
